“WE ARE PASSING THE BATON TOWARD THE GOAL OF SUCCESS!”
Welcome to the Central Virginia Chapter of NFBPA, newly established web site! As they said in construction, please pardon our dust while we construct a web site that will be eye opening, informative, inviting, entertaining, and appealing so that you will return again and again to see what is happening in Central Virginia. The Central Virginia Chapter is a chapter on the move, spreading the virtues of the National Forum of Black Public Administrators. We are a chapter composed of top public administrators, government employees, and college and university employees from the City of Richmond, the Counties of Chesterfield, and Henrico and Hanover.
As Virginia is the “Home of Presidents,” the Central Virginia Chapter is the home of Mr. Manuel (Manny) Deese, the First President of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators. Mr. Robert C. Bobb, 10th National President and former Richmond City Manager, spearheaded the growth of the Chapter. National Board Members, Dr. Calvin D. Jamison, Marilyn E Cole, and William Johnson, have played significant roles in maintaining the vitality and growth of the Central Virginia Chapter. We owe much to these dedicated public administrators; therefore, in their honor we dedicate this web page. These leaders have passed on to us the “baton“ of leadership and the desire to serve our community, state, and nation. As a chapter, we pledge to pass the “baton” to those who join our chapter and to those whom we provide guidance and supervision.
Again, welcome to our web page! Any suggestions to improve what is presented will be greatly appreciated.
David L. Avery
Chapter President
